Hailing from Southern California, Caera Cavalieri was heaven-sent for the heartbroken — gifting us with the type of heartbreak anthem that forgoes the necessity of tears and instead empowers its listeners into a state of willing acceptance, ready to seek opportunities anew. In “Liar Liar”, Cavalieri details the painful personal experience that birthed the track’s lyrics into existence after finding out her boyfriend cheated on her in Vegas. Rather than giving in to the betrayal, Cavalieri layers angsty melodies and playful vocals atop an Avril Lavigne-esque soundscape, creating a nostalgic and energy-charged effort with which she wipes her dried-up tears.

Elaborating further on the effort, Cavalieri explains, ”I had a dream the night prior that he was cheating with her, and he tried denying it for weeks. Eventually, one of his friends told me the truth with screenshots, and I wrote ‘Liar Liar’ the following day. It is the worst feeling when you find out your intuition was right when dealing with something like that, especially if you think you’re ‘in love’. I wanted to write a fun, empowering post-breakup song that you can scream in your car and help ease the pain of being cheated on, even if it’s just for a couple of minutes.”

Charging through the charts with a tenacious spirit, we hope this will not be the last we see of the 26-year-old singer-songwriter. Until then, you can stream “Liar Liar” below…
