On the last day of meteorological summer, as colder weather looms in Northern Europe, Arny Margret effortlessly makes icy temperatures and long nights seem appealing. Her new song, “The World is Between Us,” particularly its captivating video, highlights the 20-year-old’s deep connection to the soothing, serene landscapes of her sparsely populated peninsula in North-West Iceland.
“The World is Between Us,” from her upcoming album They Only Talk About the Weather, revolves around the theme of weather and its impact on our lives. Directed by the acclaimed Icelandic director Erlendur Sveinsson, the video perfectly complements Margret’s wintry sound, showcasing the breathtaking landscapes of her hometown. “We shot the video in my hometown during winter,” Margret explains. “We experienced all sorts of weather, which was expected and desired to convey. It captures the isolation and loneliness, but also the beauty within it all. Working with Erlendur and the crew was a wonderful experience, and I hope people enjoy the video as much as we do.”
